Pumpkin Festival at Vandula Farms

Vandula’s October 17–18 Pumpkin Festival has a different line-up each day. On the 17th, the makers’ market runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with OWL raptors visiting noon–3 p.m. On the 18th, The Nest brings birds from 1 to 4 p.m., with a dog-only pet costume parade from 2 to 3 p.m. A pumpkin-carving contest also takes place that day.

Both days offer pumpkins and food trucks; tractor hayrides run 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Festival entry is free. Hayrides cost $5, with proceeds going to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. Register ahead to enter the pet parade or carving contest.

The pumpkin-carving contest runs 11 a.m.–4 p.m. on October 18; food trucks operate 11 a.m.–4 p.m. both days. Balloon art is on October 17 and face painting on October 18; these are paid activities supporting the foundation. U-pick carving pumpkins start at $0.49/lb. Free on-site parking is available. Dogs are not permitted in the pumpkin patch or produce market; leashed dogs are welcome in greenhouses and other festival areas. Only the farm market and greenhouses are wheelchair accessible; the pumpkin patch and portable washrooms are not. Address: 9832 Ladner Trunk Rd, Delta, V4G 1K2. The pet parade offers over $500 in prizes for funniest costume, best pet-and-owner duo and people’s choice. Carving prizes total over $1,000, including a pair of Canucks tickets for the Master Carver; most-creative and funniest-design prizes are to be announced. Saturday food vendors are Dos Amigos and Brownie Bakers; Sunday vendors are Cravings Coffee and Pork Mafia. Except for hayrides, attractions are covered; limited greenhouse seating is available.
