About this event
This book-discussion series introduces works by Black, Indigenous and other authors of colour. Read Never Been Better by Leanne Toshiko Simpson over four weeks, then join a librarian-led discussion to share thoughts and impressions.
Matt, Misa and Dee become friends in a psychiatric ward. Matt is friendly, with a lopsided grin but few coping skills; Misa is soft-spoken and strong-willed, efficient at caring for others while avoiding her own problems; Dee is kind-hearted and trying to overcome a habit of not finishing what she starts. Two years after discharge, Matt and Misa plan a destination wedding in Turks and Caicos. Dee has loved Matt since he got her kicked out of hospital and thinks this may be her last chance to confess her feelings and disrupt their wedding. With the support system holding all three together at risk, should she put love ahead of recovery? Synopsis credited to HarperCollins Canada.
A limited number of print copies are available at the McGill service desk. The discussion is Thursday, October 15, 2026, 6–7:30 p.m., in McGill Branch’s Community Room, 4595 Albert St.
Registration is required online on this event page, at any BPL location, or by calling 604-436-5400. Provide a name and either a telephone number or an email address.
