Clay (Open Studio)
For adults at all skill levels, this open studio offers independent time to practise on the wheel, try handbuilding or finish projects begun in class. Clay must be purchased separately through the Centre Box Office. Only work made at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre with clay bought there can be fired in its kilns.

About this event
Clay Open Studio is for adults at all skill levels. Participants can practise on the wheel, work on handbuilding or finish projects started in class. The studio supports independent skill development; it does not provide private instruction and is not designed for production potters. Clay must be purchased separately through the Centre Box Office. Only work made at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre with clay purchased there can be fired in its kilns. Work created during a session can be glazed at any session you attend.
This session runs Sunday, November 8, 2026, from 10 am to 1 pm at Chilliwack Community Arts Council Clay Studio. The drop-in fee is $19 per session; a monthly membership is $99 for up to 2 sessions per week, and an annual membership is $750 for September to August. Advance registration with the Box Office is no longer needed, but everyone must purchase a drop-in pass to hold a spot, in person at the Box Office, by phone or through the website: https://purchase.chilliwackculturalcentre.ca/EventAvailability?WebEventId=24111). Members must also obtain a drop-in ticket; its price is discounted to zero at checkout. Drop-in passes are non-refundable. Participants can sign up for a maximum of 2 sessions per week, and the calendar is open until the end of the semester.
Members can glaze up to 10 pieces per month for free; additional charges apply for excess pieces: small (up to 6 inches), $2; medium (6 to 12 inches), $5; and large (over 12 inches), $8. Finished pieces can be picked up 2 to 3 weeks after glazing, only during an Open Studio Block. Bring your own packing materials and box, as the studio cannot guarantee packing supplies.
