Burnaby Speed Skating Club: Sep 2026 - Dec 2026 Drop-In Signup

About this event

Burnaby Speedskating offers drop-in places at selected practices for youth skaters who meet the BC Short Track Championship qualifying times, and for siblings who are registered club skaters and also meet the championship standards. Skaters must already be registered with another Canadian speed skating club that provides insurance for on-ice training, and bring all required speed skating equipment. Skaters without prior speed skating experience cannot attend; they are encouraged to register for the Try Speed Skating programme instead.

Coaches decide whether a skater is suitable for the training group. If a skater is not a good fit, Burnaby Speedskating may cancel the drop-in session and refund unused tickets. Sessions are held at Kensington Park Arena. The listed ice-time options are Tuesdays from 9 to 10:30 pm, Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:45 pm, and Saturdays from 5:15 to 6:30 pm. Specific session dates are October 31, November 3, 7, 10, 17, 21, 24 and 28, and December 5, 12 and 19, 2026. https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/burnaby-speed-skating-club-sep-2026-dec-2026-drop-in-signup-tickets-1998652159411. https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/burnaby-speed-skating-club-sep-2026-dec-2026-drop-in-signup-tickets-1998656488359. https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/burnaby-speed-skating-club-sep-2026-dec-2026-drop-in-signup-tickets-1998652160414. https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/burnaby-speed-skating-club-sep-2026-dec-2026-drop-in-signup-tickets-1998652161417. https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/burnaby-speed-skating-club-sep-2026-dec-2026-drop-in-signup-tickets-1998652162420. https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/burnaby-speed-skating-club-sep-2026-dec-2026-drop-in-signup-tickets-1998652163423.

Every session requires an Eventbrite ticket, and sales close 24 hours before that session begins. Skaters without a ticket for the practice cannot attend; each practice has a limited number of drop-in tickets. Refunds are available only if a ticket is cancelled at least 24 hours before the session. Later cancellations are not refundable; the club will issue a refund if it cancels a practice. Check in with a coach or executive member on arrival for any club protocols or important session information.
