About this event
Arts Umbrella’s 44th Splash Art Auction takes place October 3. Presented by Nicola Wealth and co-chaired by Christie Garofalo and Bruce Munro Wright, OBC, the $500.00 event includes a cocktail reception displaying the Splash artwork, a seated dinner, performances by the Arts Umbrella Dance Company and Pre-Professional Musical Theatre Troupe, a live auction led by auctioneer and contributing artist Hank Bull, and The Party. Fred Lee and Gloria Macarenko host the evening, which also includes a MaxMara-sponsored red carpet experience and a prize draw for a sapphire bracelet donated by Clara Agopian.
The collection includes approximately 100 original works donated by established and emerging Canadian artists, including Andrew Dadson, Landon Mackenzie, Greg Girard, Edward Burtynsky, Jake Kimble, Sarah Anne Johnston, Marie Khouri, Don Yeomans, Johnny Pootoogook and Moses Salihou. The event is held at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, with accessible parking and wheelchair access. Proceeds support Arts Umbrella’s multidisciplinary arts education programs for children and youth, including scholarships, bursaries and community programs. The organization serves approximately 20,000 young people each year, and nearly 80% of students access programming at no cost through donor funding.
