About this event
This cultural event combines traditional Chinese guqin music and Chinese painting. Musician, composer and educator Zhenghua Zheng introduces the guqin’s thousand-year history, craftsmanship and restoration, including the process of replicating ancient instruments. National First-Class Artist of China Xiaogang Wang paints live to guqin music, explaining Chinese painting fundamentals and the appreciation of collectible scholar’s objects, the Four Treasures of the Study.
A special exhibition presents ancient guqins, Zheng’s Longyin (Dragon’s Roar) guqin, and selected paintings by Wang. Zimo Wang, a freelance artist, 2D animator and practitioner of traditional Chinese arts who studies under both masters, moderates.
