About this event
Teens ages 13 to 18 are invited to submit an original two-sentence horror story. Stories must be suitable for library display. Staff will select a winner based on creativity and how spooky the story is; prompts include “Don’t look behind you...,” “The clock strikes midnight...” and “An expected guest...”. Selected entries will be displayed in the library throughout October.
The contest runs from October 1 to 31, 2026, and is not open to Fraser Valley Regional Library staff. The prize is a gift basket with an estimated value of $40. The winner will be selected by November 6, 2026, notified by phone or email, and may collect the prize at George Mackie Library. Unclaimed prizes are forfeited 14 days after notification. No purchase is necessary, and information provided to Fraser Valley Regional Library will be used only to contact the winner. Chances of winning depend on the number of entries received. The October 17 listing is 11 a.m.–5 p.m.; no advance registration is required.
