Squamish ArtWalk

About this event

In October, Squamish ArtWalk presents several ways to engage with local art: open artist studios, hands-on workshops, artist conversations, a guided tour of Downtown Squamish murals and an Anonymous Art Show. Free workshops are offered first come, first served, with no previous experience required. Registration opens Thursday, October 8.

Open studios take place October 17, and the Art Hub at the Squamish Adventure Centre runs October 17 and 18. The hub gives artists without studios a place to share their work and process, and can serve as a starting or ending point for visiting studios. A free shuttle tour of artist studios departs outside the Squamish Adventure Centre on Saturday, October 17, at noon and runs until approximately 2 pm. It carries up to 24 passengers; register in advance to secure a spot.

Join Zoe Linford for a guided mural walk in Downtown Squamish on Sunday, October 18, from noon to 2 pm. The tour departs from the steps at the Squamish Adventure Centre and shares stories behind selected public artworks. Register in advance to let the organizers know you are coming, or drop in. ArtTalks, conversations with artists about their work, take place at the Squamish Adventure Centre Theatre on October 18 from 3 to 4 pm. Attendance is free; register in advance to secure a spot.

The Anonymous Art Show presents work by emerging and established local artists without names attached. Throughout October, artists create works on a limited number of unique cedar rounds for display at the Brackendale Art Gallery. An opening reception and buying night takes place at The BAG on Tuesday, November 3, from 7 to 9 pm.
