About this event
Author Mary Robinette Kowal leads participants through the process of creating and structuring a short story. The workshop examines how an idea can grow into an overly long story, the start of a novel or a story that is too simple to hold interest. Participants will use in-class exercises and worksheets to put the ideas into practice and write a very short story during the session.
The master class runs online on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 1:30 to 4:30 pm Pacific time. It is available live and as a recording for 30 days. Per-class pricing is $129 CAD (approximately $90 USD) for conference registrants and $249 CAD (approximately $179 USD) for non-registrants. USD prices are approximate; all conference packages are charged in Canadian dollars, and the actual USD cost varies with the exchange rate charged by the attendee’s credit card provider.
