About this event
This program is for children in Grades 2–4 and teens ages 14–18. Children practise reading with teen volunteers in a supportive setting, while teen volunteers act as role models for young readers. The program is not designed to teach children how to read.
Participants must attend all six sessions. Sessions run from 4:30 to 5:30 pm on Monday, October 19 and 26, and Monday, November 2, 9, 16, and 23, at Newton Branch.
The October 19 session meets in the Meeting Room. Registration is required for all six sessions; children can pick up a form at Newton Branch.
Teen volunteer registration is closed; all positions are full. Children’s forms have been available at Newton Branch since September 21. Contact Shawn at 604-598-7406.
