About this event
The STAND Festival presents Transpositions and The Beauty and Power of Belly Dance at ANNEX on November 1, 2026. The performance begins at 7:30 pm; doors open at 6:30 pm.
Transpositions is a live ensemble improvisation by Polymer Dance. Through listening, response and presence, performers compose dance in real time rather than following fixed choreography. The work has three parts: two shorter pieces and one longer piece. Each presentation is unique, exploring migration, adaptation, connection and the relationship between individuals, the collective and the environment.
After intermission, The Beauty and Power of Belly Dance celebrates the art form’s expressive movement, cultural depth and artistic beauty. Its choreography combines strength, control and fluidity, telling stories through the body and exploring self-expression, connection and community through traditional and contemporary interpretations.
Venue: ANNEX, 823 Seymour Street, Vancouver. All audience members, including children and babies, require tickets. Children under 13 must be accompanied by someone 16 or older.
