About this event
Great fiction is driven by its characters, shaping setting, plot, point of view and conflict. In this hands-on master class, presenter Finnian Burnett guides participants through creative role play (acting is encouraged but optional), verbal storytelling and in-depth character investigations. Guided character worksheets and questions will support the activities, whether participants are creating new characters or refining those already in progress.
The class runs Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm Pacific time at Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel. It is offered in person, by livestream and as a recording; classes marked as recorded are also available live and as recordings for 30 days.
The per-class price is $129 CAD (approximately $90 USD) for conference registrants and $249 CAD (approximately $179 USD) for non-registrants. USD prices are estimates; all conference packages are charged in Canadian dollars, and the actual USD cost depends on the exchange rate applied by the card provider at registration.
