About this event
The Salmon Come Home Event takes place from 11 am to 3 pm on October 25, 2026, at Hoy Creek Hatchery. Each fall, the City and the Hoy-Scott Watershed Society celebrate salmon returning to local creeks. Visitors can watch salmon make their way to their spawning grounds; Hoy Creek Linear Park is one local salmon-viewing spot.
Visitors can tour the fish hatchery, see salmon fry, watch a live salmon dissection, and learn about the plants and wildlife of Hoy Creek Linear Park. Other activities include the return of Angela Brown's Nylon Zoo, musical entertainment, and the Explore Nature Contest. Visitors can also chat with community stewardship groups, the Hoy-Scott Watershed Society, and City staff from the Environment and Park divisions.
