About this event
The ink Teen Advisory Group is for teens interested in helping put together ink Volume 9.
Members are involved in all aspects of the magazine's publishing cycle, including selecting pieces, magazine design and layout, and planning the launch.
The October 15 meeting runs 4–5 p.m. online. Registration is required through the official VPL event listing.
For teens ages 13–18 in Grades 8–12 who live or attend school in the City of Vancouver. The application form also accepts 12-year-olds turning 13. Register using this form: https://www.vpl.ca/survey/index.php/864187?lang=en. You need a computer, tablet or phone with a camera and microphone and the Zoom app; the joining link is emailed to registrants. Capacity is 30. Optional in-person volunteer opportunities may be offered. Participants may move, stim or take breaks. For access needs, email teens@vpl.ca. This programme is free. Questions: 604-331-3690.
Participation can earn community service hours, and previous contributors to ink are particularly welcome. After you apply, staff will contact you with instructions for the next meeting. The group meets February–December. During the school year, meetings are every other Thursday, online or at Central Library; regular meetings are currently online. Summer activities include two-day workshops at Central Library with mentors in writing, art and publishing to select work for the magazine.
