About this event
Reading Buddies pairs children in Grades 2–4 with teen volunteers ages 14–18 to practise reading in a supportive setting. Teens serve as role models to younger readers. This programme is not designed to teach children how to read.
Participants must attend all six sessions: Thursdays, October 15, 22 and 29 and November 5, 12 and 19, 2026, 4–5 p.m., in the Meeting Room at Clayton Branch. The programme is free.
Registration is required. Children's application forms have been available at Clayton Branch since September 24. Teen volunteer registration is closed; all positions are filled. Questions: michelle.meech@surrey.ca or 236-598-3072. All six listed sessions are currently full.
