About this event
Writers are often told they need a platform, a brand or a social media strategy. This session considers relevance as an ongoing creative practice rather than a performance requirement.
Participants will explore small, sustainable actions that grow out of their work and help them stay visible to readers, publishers and literary communities. The session offers practical approaches for writers preparing a first manuscript as well as those building a long-term writing life. It also demystifies newsletters, storefronts and light social media use, with an emphasis on keeping the focus on the writing and developing a writer-centred strategy that protects time and can grow with the work.
Sean Cranbury presents the session online on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm Pacific time. It is also livestreamed and recorded; recordings are available for 30 days. Register: https://registration.siwc.ca
Per-class pricing is $129 CAD (approximately $90 USD) for conference registrants and $249 CAD (approximately $179 USD) for non-registrants. USD figures are approximate references based on the January 16, 2026 exchange rate. All fees are charged in Canadian dollars; the actual USD cost depends on the exchange rate applied by the attendee’s credit card provider.
