Monster Dash 5K

About this event

Dress up for Burnaby’s Monster Dash 5 K, open to runners and walkers, or the children’s 400 m Mini Monster Dash on the Swangard Stadium track. Registration includes finisher medals, participant bags, post-race refreshments and a chip-timed bib for the 5 K. Spectators have complimentary access to vendors and the children’s fun zone.

October 31, 2026: the event opens at 8 a.m. and the 5 K starts at 9 a.m. Swangard Stadium, 6100 Boundary Road, Burnaby, V5S 3R2. An exact event ending time is not published. Current late registration is CAD 50 for the 5 K, October 1–30, and CAD 15 for the Mini, September 6–October 29; the registration page says shown amounts include mandatory charges, items and fees. There is no race-day registration. Group/team discount codes can be requested from apaul@tourismburnaby.com.

The 5 K requires ages 11+ and the ability to complete it safely and follow instructions. Ages 11–13 must be accompanied on the route by a registered adult; ages 14–17 may run without an accompanying adult. A parent or legal guardian must sign the waiver for everyone under 18. The Mini is restricted to ages 10 and under. The route includes pavement, grass and loose gravel with inclines and uneven surfaces. Pets cannot enter the stadium but may watch along the Central Park route on a leash. Entry payments or transfers are not refundable; attendance includes consent to promotional photography or recording.

All participants must collect kits on October 30, noon–6 p.m., from Fit First Footwear, Christine Sinclair Community Centre, 3713 Kensington Avenue, Burnaby, V5B 0A7. Bring your emailed confirmation number and photo ID. To collect for another runner, bring their full name, confirmation number and a copy of their valid photo ID.
