About this event
This 1.5-hour session focuses on shorebirds, binocular basics and identification features. Meet at the tennis-court picnic tables behind Port Moody Recreation Complex, by the Civic Centre south parking lot, then walk to the new boardwalk to observe shorebirds and other migratory species on the mudflats using a spotting scope.
The exact registration page lists October 17, 2026, 9:30–11 a.m., for ages 13 and older. The city’s event calendar still shows 9–11:30 a.m.; use the current booking page’s 9:30–11 a.m. session time.
The activity runs rain or shine; dress appropriately. Bring your own binoculars if you have them. A handout of birds around the inlet is provided. No pets or strollers, due to noise and space considerations. Enquiries: Jan, 604-469-4776, jlee1@portmoody.ca.
