A Life in Plein Air - New Landscape Paintings by Junyi Ji runs from Tuesday, Sept. 1 to Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, at Vancouver Lipont Art Centre. Gallery hours are Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., or by appointment. The venue is closed on Labour Day, Sept. 7.
The solo exhibition presents recent work by Richmond-based oil painter Junyi Ji. His paintings draw on a year of on-location work around Vancouver and nearby areas, including coastlines, forests, parks, streets and mountains, with attention to changing light, weather and the atmosphere of particular places.
A free opening reception and artist talk is set for Saturday, Sept. 5, from 7 to 9 p.m. in Room 218. There is no elevator. Free parking is available only on the south side of the building.
Ji studied at the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts under Professor Yu Xiaodong. Since moving to Canada in 2022, he has established studios in Richmond and West Vancouver and held four solo exhibitions in Metro Vancouver.
The event is open to all ages. The site is not accessible.
