About this event

Join Tina Johnston to learn practical hand-sewing skills for mending and refreshing clothing. The session covers stitches used to repair garments and attach patches, buttons and decorations.

Needles, thread, fabric and all materials needed to begin stitching will be provided. Johnston learned to sew through family, community and online resources, and applies those skills to historical costuming, historically inspired princess costumes and modern fashion design.

Johnston is also an environmental scientist and science communicator who volunteers with local streamkeeper organizations to restore aquatic habitat and connect people with nature close to home.
