Recycling Stories: Walking with Vancouver's Binners

About this event

Join the Binners’ Project on November 1, 2026, from 1 to 2:30 pm for a workshop introducing its mission and programs, followed by a walk through the laneways where binners work. Binners are informal recyclers who turn overlooked spaces into hubs of recycling, resilience and inclusion. The workshop looks at how binners are supported and the broader environmental and social challenges they address. The walk offers a closer look at the challenges they face in their daily work and their role in waste diversion.

The event is organized by the DTES Heart of the City Festival and is drop-in: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/recycling-stories-walking-with-vancouvers-binners-tickets-2002301403398.. Tickets are available by donation, with free community tickets also offered.
