About this event
Stacey Matson, Erin Bow and Robin Stevenson will share stories about young characters facing very different challenges. In Matson’s Eleven Out of Ten, Albie must take over a Young Entrepreneur Club contest project after her best friend is seriously injured. Bow’s Witchward Bound follows rival companions—a cat and a raven—as they learn to work together to save a witch they both care about.
Stevenson’s The Book of Jupiter centres on a girl who realizes she has spent nearly her whole life in a cult. Moderated by Shannon Ozirny, the discussion will explore courage, creativity and the authors’ writing processes.
The event is for Grades 4–7 and connects to English Language Arts for Grades 4–9 and Physical and Health Education for Grades 4–7. Presented by Vancouver Writers Fest on Oct. 20, 2026, at 1 p.m. Admission is $12.
The in-person session at The Improv Centre ends at 2:15 p.m. and costs CAD 12. The organizer lists a separate free digital livestream.
