About this event
Garden Work Parties are free volunteer opportunities to help maintain Surrey's gardens through pruning, weeding, labelling, removing invasive plants and other care tasks. Head gardeners provide horticultural instruction, including pruning and weeding, along with tools and training. The program is best suited to people age 16 and older.
Sign up as a Garden Work Party volunteer for attendance details, updates on upcoming opportunities and volunteer-hour tracking. Opportunities are posted about one month before each session. Dress for the weather, bring water and wear sturdy shoes; programs may be cancelled because of strong winds or extreme weather.
The October 20 work party meets 10 a.m.–noon at Glades Woodland Garden, 457 172 Street, at the main welcome area.
Only registered volunteers ages 16 and older may attend; no drop-ins. No experience is required, but volunteers must be comfortable using tools outdoors and able to follow directions and take initiative. New volunteers apply through MyImpactPage; existing volunteers sign in, sign up and confirm the shift.
