Sommelier Sean Nelson leads a tasting of wines selected to complement the current exhibitions, sharing the stories behind each wine. Cheese pairings are supplied by Les Amis du Fromage, followed by time to explore the gallery.
Thursday, October 15, 7–9 pm, PoMoArts, 2425 St Johns Street, Port Moody. Ticket sales close Monday, October 12. Tickets for this occurrence are $82.95 including GST. Check for any additional platform processing fee; the final order total is shown at checkout. Sean Nelson holds certifications from WSET, French Wine Scholar and the Court of Master Sommeliers. A former wine director at Vij’s, he was named BC Sommelier of the Year and won Somm Slam at the International Chefs Congress. He now runs Somm Wine Guy Consulting. The three featured exhibitions are Transcendence by Speplól Tanya Zilinski, Polyunethical by Yeonmi Kim, and Renderings by Rosemary Burd, Marisa Myrah and Heather Talbot. Beadwork, textiles, painting, photography and installation explore forest terrain and natural environments, patterns in nature, technology and consumption’s environmental impacts, and physical and spiritual connections to the universe. Refunds are at the organizer’s discretion and, if approved, can take 5–10 business days. Ticket Owl processing fees are non-refundable except when the organizer cancels.
