About this event
This in-person program welcomes senior participants for a slow-paced stroll around Lost Lagoon. Learn about migrating birds and wildlife in the nearby waters, trees and shores during autumn, and look for colourful ducks, songbirds, recent beaver activity and other signs of wildlife. The route is mostly flat and may include gentle inclines and uneven packed gravel, pavement and dirt. The pace is slow to moderate, for up to 1.5 hours.
The program runs from 10 to 11:30 am on October 21, 2026. Meet at Nature House on Lost Lagoon, underneath the viewing platform near the intersection of Chilco and Alberni Streets: https://maps.app.goo.gl/MJVLWV2NEqGnF7U98. Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes early to sign in. Registration is required; drop-ins are not allowed. Fees use a sliding scale, with reduced fees available for people facing financial barriers. If you have trouble with the ticket form, tickets are also available here: https://zeffy.com/en/ticketing/senior-stroll-fall-birds-and-nature-walk-october-7-1000-1130-am. SPES uses Zeffy to process payments, so the full purchase goes to SPES. You may tip Zeffy; to opt out, choose “Other” from the drop-down menu and enter $0.

The gathering place is on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Peoples. Their stewardship and respect for this land have carried forward for thousands of years, long before settlers named it “Stanley Park”.
