About this event
Explore the world of bees through the senses. Learn about bees' role in the environment, the benefits of hive products such as propolis, pollen and honey, and how and why bees create them. The workshop includes an extensive honey tasting.
The instructor is Kristen Penhall, a Cornell-trained Master Beekeeper working toward an Apprentice Level Master Melittologist certification. The workshop runs October 17, 2026, from 10 to 11:30 am at the Fraser River Discovery Centre and is intended for participants aged 16 and older. Online pre-registration is required. The current regular admission is $40; the $35 early-bird offer ended September 25. Outside beekeeping, Kristen enjoys climbing and spending time with their dog Charlie.
