About this event

The Clay Open Studio is for adults with experience who want to continue personalized projects, practise on the wheel, handbuild or finish work started in class. This occurrence is Friday, October 30, 2026, from 10 am to 1 pm at Chilliwack Community Arts Council Clay Studio. Regular hours are Wednesdays from 5 to 8 pm, Fridays from 10 am to 1 pm, and Sundays from 10 am to 1 pm and 2 to 5 pm.

The drop-in fee is $19 per session. A monthly membership is $99 for up to 2 sessions per week, and an annual membership is $750 for September to August. All participants must purchase a drop-in pass to hold their spot, in person at the Box Office, by phone or through the website. Participants may register ahead or try dropping in on the day of a session. Contact the Centre Box Office if concerned about space on a particular date. Passes are non-refundable, so participants should make sure they can attend before purchasing. The calendar is open through the end of the semester, with a limit of two sessions per week.

Clay must be purchased separately through the Centre Box Office. Only work made at Chilliwack Cultural Centre using clay purchased there can be fired in its kilns. Sessions are not designed for production potters or private instruction; they allow students to develop their skills independently. Work made during a session can be glazed at any session the participant attends. Members can glaze up to 10 pieces per month for free; additional firing charges apply: $2 for small pieces (up to 6 inches), $5 for medium pieces (6–12 inches) and $8 for large pieces (over 12 inches).

Finished pottery can be picked up 2–3 weeks after glazing, only during an Open Studio block. Participants should bring their own packing materials and box, as the studio cannot guarantee packing supplies.
