About this event
The Great Pumpkin Carve runs October 24 and 25, 2026, 11 a.m.–5 p.m. each day, at McKitrick Park in North Delta and Paterson Park in Ladner. Participation is free for all ages. Both sites offer pumpkin carving, pumpkin crafts, harvest games, live music, food trucks and the Great Pumpkin Glow Walk. North Delta also offers a giant inflatable corn maze and festive mini golf; Ladner adds hay wagon rides and a local vendor market.
Bring a pumpkin, or bring cash to obtain a locally grown pumpkin by donation. Carving tools are supplied; specialized tools may also be brought. Advance registration guarantees carving time and reserves a light for the display. Walk-ins are welcome subject to station and display availability; bring a battery-operated light if reserved lights run out. The outdoor event runs rain or shine, so dress for the weather. Food purchases cost extra.
Registered participants are expected to leave their pumpkins for the Glow Walk. To take yours home immediately, participate as a walk-in rather than reserve a place. Displayed pumpkins automatically enter five contest categories: scariest, most creative, friendliest, Kids Carve for under-10s, and best overall design. Vote by on-site QR code October 24–31 until 9 a.m.; multiple pumpkins and categories may receive votes. Winners are contacted the following Monday. Collect pumpkins October 31, 9 a.m.–noon; unclaimed pumpkins are composted. Non-carvers can also visit and vote.
