About this event

Explore how copper contamination affected the marine food chain, from plankton to predators, and how remediation now protects Howe Sound. This temporary Terra Lab exhibition features preserved rockfish, salmon, sponges and a real killer whale skeleton. The skeleton was prepared by Strawberry Isle Marine Research Society after a whale was found deceased near Tofino in 1997; the travelling education display is now owned by Redd Fish Restoration Society.

The museum events calendar dates the exhibition November 2, 2026–February 28, 2027. It is included with museum admission. Visits are subject to actual museum opening hours and admission conditions; the exhibition date range is not continuous access.
