About this event
The 39th Vancouver Writers Fest runs October 18–25, 2026, bringing more than 150 local and international authors to over 90 events. The programme explores reading, resistance, repair, renewal and rejoicing, considering how books help readers learn, imagine other worlds and build empathy.
Events take place on Granville Island and at other venues across Vancouver, with online programming also offered. Theatre District events run October 20–25 at Waterfront Theatre, Performance Works and The NEST. This is a festival overview; select each event’s actual time, venue and ticket conditions from the official lineup rather than treating the range as daily opening hours. Tickets went on sale September 17 at 10 am.
