About this event
The inaugural FBG Portrait Award brings emerging and established artists from the North Shore and surrounding regions together through varied approaches to identity, humanity, connection and contemporary social stories. A two-stage jury selected 15 works. Visitors can vote for the People’s Choice Award during October.
The main exhibition runs October 7–November 1, 2026. Gallery hours are Wednesday–Sunday, 11 am–5 pm, closed Mondays, Tuesdays and statutory holidays. The October 8 opening reception, 6–8 pm, and October 23 ticketed gala, 7–9 pm, are separate events. The $2,000 prize pool comes from artist entry fees.
Auxiliary exhibitions, without opening receptions, run at West Vancouver Memorial Library October 15–November 16 and West Vancouver Municipal Hall October 7–January 19, 2027. This listing is for the Ferry Building Gallery main exhibition.
