North Vancouver couple wins $500,000 Lotto 6/49 Extra prize
A North Vancouver couple won a $500,000 Extra prize in the Sept. 9 Lotto 6/49 draw and says it has not yet decided how to use the money.
Jackquiline and Waldemar S. of North Vancouver won a $500,000 Extra prize in the Sept. 9 Lotto 6/49 draw, according to the British Columbia Lottery Corp.
Waldemar S. said he discovered the win after scanning the couple’s ticket with the BCLC Lotto! App. He said he scanned it several times to confirm the result before calling Jackquiline, as he had never won anything before. The couple says it remains in shock and has not decided what to do with the money.
The winning ticket was purchased at a lottery kiosk at Park Royal in West Vancouver. BCLC says lottery players in British Columbia have won $35 million from Extra and $52 million from Lotto 6/49 in 2026.
