Tess Rouse enters Langley Township council race
Rouse is joining Mayor Eric Woodward’s Progress For Langley slate, citing more than 16 years of government experience.

Tess Rouse will seek a seat on Langley Township council as part of Mayor Eric Woodward’s Progress For Langley slate of candidates.
Rouse, who was born and raised in Langley, said she has more than 16 years of experience in local, regional and provincial government, including more than a decade with the Township of Langley. She said the work gave her an understanding of how government decisions are made and implemented.
Her Township work included transportation, land use, buildings, water, waste and community planning. She led development of the Township’s Climate Action Strategy, helped establish a Transportation and Mobility Strategy framework, and worked on electric-vehicle charging and LED streetlight conversion initiatives.
Rouse said her campaign will focus on planning for growth while supporting community spaces, recreation, arts and culture, local businesses, parks and environmental protection. Woodward said she would bring government experience and local knowledge to council.
