YVR welcomes Canada-Vietnam air transport agreement allowing direct service
Vancouver International Airport says Canada’s first air transport agreement with Vietnam could support direct flights, tourism, trade and stronger economic ties.

Vancouver International Airport (YVR) welcomed the federal government’s announcement of Canada’s first air transport agreement with Vietnam, which allows direct air service between the two countries.
Mike McNaney, YVR’s vice-president and chief external affairs officer, said the agreement creates opportunities to strengthen connections with one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing markets. Direct service could offer more convenient travel options, support tourism and trade, and strengthen economic ties between Canada and Vietnam.
As Canada’s Pacific gateway to Asia and beyond, YVR said it is working to support opportunities to strengthen air connectivity with Southeast Asia and meet growing demand for travel and trade between the regions.
