Surrey police notify IIO after motorcycle collision
Surrey Police Service says the IIO has assumed jurisdiction after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision following an attempted police stop.

Surrey Police Service says it has notified the Independent Investigations Office after a serious collision involving a motorcycle.
An SPS officer attempted to stop a speeding motorcycle at about 3:30 a.m. on Aug. 7 near the Trans-Canada Highway and the 104 Avenue off-ramp, police said. The motorcyclist entered oncoming traffic and collided with a civilian vehicle.
The rider was taken to hospital by BC Emergency Health Services with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. No one else was injured.
The IIO has asserted jurisdiction over the investigation, and SPS says it will not release further information. The agency directs inquiries and IIO updates to www.iiobc.ca.
