YVR expects 350,000 travellers over Labour Day weekend
Vancouver International Airport expects its busiest days to be Friday and Monday, with 88,000 and 90,000 passengers respectively.

Vancouver International Airport expects about 350,000 travellers between Friday, Sept. 4, and Monday, Sept. 7, over the Labour Day long weekend. It forecasts an average of 87,000 passengers a day, with 88,000 on Friday and 90,000 on Monday, the two busiest days.
Following the FIFA 2026 World Cup in June, YVR described the period as part of a record-breaking summer travel season. Cargo moving through the airport rose 13 per cent in July from a year earlier, which YVR attributed to strong international activity, particularly from Asia and Europe.
Travellers are advised to confirm flight details with their airline or at yvr.ca, reserve parking and allow extra travel time. New X-ray equipment at domestic checkpoints lets passengers keep laptops and liquids in their bags. Biometric identity-verification tools at some gates have been used by 500,000 passengers so far this year, according to YVR.
