Langley School District Foundation golf tournament supports student success
The foundation’s 19th annual tournament drew 36 teams and nearly 150 golfers, raising $107,000 for student mental-wellness initiatives.

The Langley School District Foundation held its annual golf tournament Wednesday at Newlands Golf Course, drawing 36 teams and nearly 150 golfers. The event, in its 19th year, sold out seven weeks before it took place, according to executive director Alicia Rempel.
The tournament, the foundation’s largest fundraiser of the year, raised $107,000 for student mental-wellness initiatives, exceeding last year’s total of just over $90,000. Participants included local business representatives, community members and district staff.
The best-ball, shotgun-start tournament also featured vendor and sponsor booths, a putting contest and a mega putt contest. A post-round banquet included dinner, speeches and a video about the foundation’s work. A former Langley School District student spoke about receiving support from the foundation and from administrators, teachers and staff throughout their learning journey.
