North Vancouver-Capilano voters cast ballots in federal byelection
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in North Vancouver-Capilano, where voters are choosing a successor to former Liberal MP Jonathan Wilkinson.

Voters in North Vancouver-Capilano are casting ballots in a federal byelection, one of three being held Monday alongside votes in Ontario and Quebec.
The North Vancouver riding became vacant after former cabinet minister Jonathan Wilkinson resigned in June to become Canada’s ambassador to the European Union. Wilkinson won nearly 60 per cent of the vote there in last year’s election.
The Liberals have nominated Braeden Caley, a longtime party aide who most recently served as deputy chief of staff to Prime Minister Mark Carney. Conservative candidate Stephen Curran is a lawyer, while local NDP organizer Stephen Tweedale is running for Avi Lewis’s New Democrats. Scientist and advocate Shelley Luce is the Green candidate.
Polls opened at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Elections Canada says more than 11,000 people voted in advance polls in North Vancouver over the weekend.
