Greater Vancouver home sales fall nearly 5% in August
Greater Vancouver recorded 1,869 home sales in August, down 4.6 per cent from a year earlier as prices continued to edge lower across market segments.

Home sales in Greater Vancouver fell 4.6 per cent in August from a year earlier, with 1,869 properties sold, Greater Vancouver Realtors reports.
Sales were 20.7 per cent below the 10-year seasonal average. The board says the market has lagged since May and that the slower pace is expected to continue through the end of 2026.
The composite benchmark price for all residential property types was $1,081,900, down 5.6 per cent from August 2025 and 0.6 per cent from July. Chief economist and vice-president of data analytics Andrew Lis said slower-than-usual sales, alongside inventory that has retreated from 2025 highs, have pushed prices lower across market segments.
There were 4,100 new listings, down three per cent year over year and 1.3 per cent below the 10-year average. Total inventory fell 2.7 per cent from a year ago to 15,798, though it remained 26.2 per cent above the long-term average.
