WestJet Rewards members can now earn points on eligible Sunwing Vacations packages

WestJet has expanded its rewards program to include Sunwing Vacations, giving WestJet Rewards members a new way to earn points on eligible vacation packages.

Members earn one point for every Canadian dollar spent on an eligible package, excluding taxes, fees and charges. Each person on a booking who has a rewards ID can earn points based on their individual share of the package price.

Members can also earn tier qualifying spend and milestone qualifying spend equal to 20 per cent of their individual share of the total package. Silver, Gold and Platinum members may use their WestJet day-of-travel benefits, including free checked baggage and priority services, when checking in for a WestJet flight.

Members can redeem WestJet points for the full cost of an eligible Sunwing Vacations package, including taxes, fees and charges, with a minimum redemption of 5,000 points. The option to redeem points on eligible Sunwing Vacations packages has been available since 2024.

People who are not members can register online for free. WestJet says members can also collect points and access additional offers through partnerships with TELUS, Canadian Tire and Skip.

Steve McClelland, WestJet's vice-president of loyalty and strategic partnerships, said the expansion is intended to give members more opportunities to turn travel and everyday spending into rewards for future vacations.
