South Surrey Terry Fox Run planned for Sept. 20
The annual Terry Fox Run will return to South Surrey Athletic Park on Sept. 20, raising money for cancer research.

The 2026 Terry Fox Run is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 20 at South Surrey Athletic Park. Participants can run, walk or attend in support of cancer research, the South Surrey/White Rock committee said.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the run starts at 9 a.m. at 14600 20 Ave. Information and registration are available at https://run.terryfox.ca/129880.
Terry Fox, who grew up in Port Coquitlam, launched the Marathon of Hope after losing a leg to osteogenic sarcoma. He ran 5,373 kilometres before cancer in his lungs forced him to stop on Sept. 1, 1980. Terry Fox Run events have raised more than $850 million for cancer research since 1980, according to terryfox.org.
Runs are also planned Sept. 20 in Fraser Heights, Fleetwood, Newton and Delta, among other locations across B.C. and Canada.
