BC Hydro to carry out 48-hour construction at Richmond intersection this weekend
Lane closures, turn restrictions and delays are expected at Westminster Highway and No. 2 Road from Friday evening to Sunday evening.

BC Hydro will carry out 24-hour construction at the intersection of Westminster Highway and No. 2 Road in Richmond from 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13.
According to the City of Richmond, BC Hydro crews will undertake heavy civil excavation in the area, with lane closures in effect. For the three-day work period, at least one lane in each direction will remain open through the intersection.
Left turns will not be permitted for eastbound, westbound or northbound traffic during construction. Drivers should expect delays, while those travelling to Sea Island will be detoured via Gilbert Road and Dinsmore Bridge.
After the construction period, BC Hydro's remaining work will maintain at least two lanes in each direction through the intersection: one through lane and one left-turn lane. Traffic controllers will be on site to direct vehicles and pedestrians.
A noise bylaw exemption is in place for the work. More information is available on the City of Richmond's noise bylaw exemptions webpage.
