Richmond sets five advance voting dates ahead of the Oct. 17 municipal election
Advance voting runs Oct. 3 and Oct. 7–10 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters will choose one mayor, eight councillors and seven school trustees from 90 candidates.

Richmond residents can vote in advance on five dates before the municipal election on Oct. 17. The 2026 election has 90 candidates seeking one mayoral seat, eight city council seats and seven school trustee seats. Advance voting begins Saturday, Oct. 3, and continues on Oct. 7, 8, 9 and 10.
Voting is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on each advance voting day. Locations listed are Cambie Secondary School (4151 Jacombs Rd.), Richmond City Hall (6911 No. 3 Rd.), City Centre Community Centre (5900 Minoru Blvd.), Burnett Secondary School (5011 Granville Ave.), Hamilton Elementary School (5180 Smith Dr.), McMath Secondary School (4251 Garry St.) and McRoberts Secondary School (8980 Williams Rd.). The source does not specify which location is assigned to each date.
For advance voting, bring two pieces of identification showing your name and home address; voters may attend any advance voting location. On general election day, voters must go to the assigned voting station shown on the voter card mailed to them.
An accessible ballot-marking device will be available at Richmond City Hall on advance voting days. It allows voters to mark ballots independently using descriptive audio, a touch screen, Braille, a rocker paddle or a sip-and-puff device. Curbside voting is also available, and voters may bring a family member to assist. The City of Richmond’s election webpage says family members must make a solemn declaration that they will assist faithfully and impartially. Voters should call the Elections Office at 604-276-4100 when they arrive at their voting place to request either option.
The city says it strives to make voting locations accessible to people who use wheelchairs, walkers and mobility scooters, though some locations are not fully accessible. Curbside voting will be clearly signed at locations that are not fully accessible.
