Meet the MLA candidates for Surrey City Centre
Surrey Now-Leader invited candidates in the Surrey City Centre riding to answer a questionnaire ahead of the provincial election. Oliver Wildfong of OneBC and Raman Sharma of CentreBC outline their priorities, experience and first 100 days plans.

Surrey Now-Leader asked candidates for MLA in Surrey City Centre to complete a questionnaire to help voters get to know them ahead of the provincial election. Responses will be posted as they are received. The following are responses from Oliver Wildfong and Raman Sharma.
Oliver Wildfong is running for OneBC. He describes himself as a security tradesman, small business owner and new dad who has called Surrey home since 2005. He says he is not a career politician and is standing up for what is right. His three priorities are cutting government waste and lowering taxes for working families; making streets safer through recovery, enforcement and smart community design; and supporting strong families, parental rights and property rights.
For his first 100 days, Wildfong says he would push for a line-by-line review of provincial spending, starting with growth in management and administration, to direct money back to front-line health care and policing. He says public servants should serve the public rather than their own interests. He would also hold monthly public town halls in Surrey City Centre and report publicly on how he votes and why; bring his CPTED safety training to local businesses and community groups; and work with police and residents on practical improvements in areas where people feel unsafe. He says he would also advocate for recovery-focused addiction care, rather than more supply.
Asked why voters should elect him, Wildfong says he is a tradesman, not a politician, and has built a business and solved practical problems. He promises to document his entire journey publicly so voters can hold him accountable, and says he will listen, answer directly and put Canadians first. He calls for change and opposes the status quo and further reckless spending. Raman Sharma is running for CentreBC. His biography describes him as an entrepreneur, construction industry leader and community builder with 28 years of community service, committed to public leadership, professional development and empowering diverse communities. His three priorities are strengthening public safety and supporting neighbourhoods; improving access to timely, quality health care; and creating jobs, supporting small businesses and lowering costs.
In his first 100 days, Sharma says he would listen to Surrey City Centre residents, prioritize safer communities, advocate for timely health-care access, support small businesses, and promote affordability, job creation and a stronger local economy. He says his 28 years of community service, business leadership and construction experience help him understand local concerns and find practical solutions. He says he would work to make Surrey City Centre safer, improve health-care access, strengthen the economy and ensure every resident's voice is heard.
