The Museum of Surrey will hold its BOO-seum Halloween party on Oct. 24
The free, family-friendly afternoon in Cloverdale will feature games, crafts, performances and a costume parade. A quieter sensory-friendly trick-or-treat event is set for Oct. 30.

The Museum of Surrey will host its annual BOO-seum Halloween party on Oct. 24, the week before Halloween. The free event runs from 1 to 4 p.m. in Cloverdale. Museum manager Lynn Saffrey previously told the Cloverdale Reporter that BOO-seum has become a signature Halloween event for children and their parents in Surrey.
Activities for all ages include games, Halloween crafts, the museum’s BOO-Bingo game and special Halloween photos with K’laro Phototainment. The museum’s mascot, Raj the Racoon, will also be there and usually dresses up. The Re-enactors, Surrey’s historical acting troupe, will perform in the theatre at selected times between 1 and 3:30 p.m. Characters from Royal Court Princess Parties will lead a costume parade.
The museum will also hold a sensory-friendly Sensory Trick or Treat on Oct. 30, from 4 to 8 p.m., offering a quieter option the day before Halloween. Information on the City of Surrey website says families can visit relaxed trick-or-treat stations, make festive crafts and take part in a gallery scavenger hunt. The event will have no loud noises, strobe lights or jump scares, and a sensory room and quiet spaces will be available for anyone needing a break. The event is wheelchair and stroller accessible.
Admission to the museum is free for both events. The Museum of Surrey is at 17710 56A Avenue in Cloverdale. For more information, call 604-592-6956, email museum@surrey.ca or visit surrey.ca/museum.
