Vancouver police constable faces fraud, theft and breach-of-trust charges
Court records show Cst. Kal Dosanjh faces nine counts with alleged offence dates spanning 2017 to 2025 in or near Vancouver, Surrey and elsewhere in British Columbia.

A Vancouver Police Department constable has been charged with fraud, theft and breach of trust, according to court records. Authorities have not publicly released details of the allegations or the circumstances that led to the charges.
Witnesses reported seeing numerous officers at the home of Cst. Kal Dosanjh, where investigators removed several boxes of documents. The BC Prosecution Service said Thursday afternoon that the alleged offence dates differ across the nine counts, ranging from Dec. 8, 2017, to July 25, 2025, at or near Vancouver, Surrey and/or other locations in British Columbia.
Dosanjh appeared at the Justice Centre at 5 p.m. Thursday, and Court Services Online later listed him as in custody. Vancouver Police is expected to provide further information at a news conference Friday.
Dosanjh is a veteran VPD officer and the founder of the KidsPlay Foundation, a youth-focused charity intended to steer young people away from gangs, drugs and violence. He has been a prominent public figure in Metro Vancouver through anti-gang advocacy and community outreach.
