Vancouver Canadians cancel fireworks night at Nat Bailey Stadium
The Vancouver Canadians have cancelled a post-game fireworks show because resources needed to stage it are being directed to wildfire response efforts in B.C. and the Pacific Northwest.

The Vancouver Canadians have cancelled a post-game fireworks show at Nat Bailey Stadium as wildfires continue to affect British Columbia.
The club said the province’s state of emergency and the need for resources elsewhere made it inappropriate to proceed. In a social-media statement, the Canadians said they stand with wildfire-affected communities and thanked first responders.
Another fireworks event remains scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 27, though the club had not said whether it will go ahead.
The cancellation comes during another severe wildfire season in B.C. The Canadian Press has reported that seven of the province’s 10 worst wildfire seasons have occurred in the past decade, including the fires to date in 2026. Toronto Blue Jays prospect JoJo Parker is also expected to make his Vancouver Canadians debut soon.
