Surrey police to hold school supply drive
Surrey Police Service, Surrey Schools and Real Canadian Superstore will collect supplies in Newton for students and families needing support at the start of the school year.

Surrey Police Service will partner with Surrey Schools and Real Canadian Superstore for a school supply drive in Newton on Saturday, Sept. 12, to support students and families who need extra help as the school year begins.
The drive will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot of the Superstore at 7550 King George Boulevard. Organizers will collect items to help students begin the year ready to learn, including backpacks, binders, pencil cases, writing supplies and personal hygiene products.
Surrey Schools will distribute the donated supplies after the event.
SPS will also run its Lock Out Auto Crime campaign in the Superstore parking lot. Volunteers will conduct parking-lot audits for visible theft risks, such as valuables left in plain view, and offer drivers practical advice on reducing thefts from vehicles.
