Vancouver police seize guns and suspected drugs from False Creek boat
Four people were arrested after Vancouver police searched the Night Shadow following a report that someone aboard allegedly fired a suppressed gun into the water.

Vancouver Police Department (VPD) officers arrested four people after boarding a boat moored in False Creek in response to a report that someone aboard had allegedly fired a suppressed gun into the water.
The VPD said its Marine Squad and Emergency Response Team boarded the vessel, Night Shadow, at about 6 p.m. Sunday. The boat was then towed to a secure location, where officers obtained a warrant to search it.
Police said the search found a chrome handgun, multiple gun parts, a large extended magazine and several suppressors. Officers also found several baggies of suspected crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl, along with large bags of cutting agents, dyes, scales and drug-cooking utensils.
The investigation is continuing and charges are pending, the VPD said.
Boaters seeking to anchor legally in False Creek must obtain a free permit through the City of Vancouver. The permit allows anchoring for 14 of 30 days in summer and 21 of 40 days in winter, after which boaters must leave the creek.
