South Surrey’s Paws2Fitness promotes activity for dogs and owners
White Rock resident Claire Sojka has revived Paws2Fitness in South Surrey, offering activities, training and community walks aimed at getting dogs and owners moving together.

White Rock resident Claire Sojka is relaunching Paws2Fitness from a rented three-acre property in South Surrey, with the goal of helping dogs and their owners take part in safe, varied activity together.
The site includes a fenced area for dogs to run and play, but Sojka said it is not intended to operate as a conventional dog daycare. Activities may include swimming, agility, paddleboarding, cycling and walks, with owners encouraged to participate.
Sojka said she completed a hydrotherapy course in Kingston, Ont., and has experience in agility training. She wants to help owners understand that dogs have different needs and may benefit from a mix of activities rather than repetitive exercise.
Paws2Fitness also works with Barks and Recreation and Big and Small Rescue Society, and offers dog first-aid training. Community walks organized with Laurel of Rose Dog Care will resume Aug. 29 and continue every other Saturday at 9 a.m. at changing locations in White Rock and South Surrey.
